chatbots and more

Is there anyone doesn't know what is chatbot? here is a video for a quick introduction.

It is a robot or digital service that achieve some functions and talking to you like a human. I found one article about the relationships between consumers and digital assistants. According to PwC, this is the percentage of consumers who agreed that this is what their relationships with digital assistants is like today (and who the relationship will evolve in five years):

Adviser: 14 percent (17 percent)

Acquaintance: 10 percent (7 percent)

Teacher: 7 percent (12 percent)

Friend: 6 percent (8 percent)

Stranger: 5 percent (2 percent)

Manager: 4 percent (7 percent)

Confidante: 3 percent (5 percent)

Coworker: 3 percent (7 percent)

Adversary: 2 percent (3 percent)

Spouse/partner: 1 percent (1 percent)

See, chatbot could be an interesting subject for interaction between human and robots. For consumers perspective, they treat the digital assistants as their adviser, acquaintance and teacher. It's a fun result that chatbot was treated as various types of identities. However, first three positions are still related to knowledge/information acquirement, which indicate human might need more time to talk to a robot as a friend.

Should we keep focusing on make chatbot more humanize? If your chatbot has a more prominent personality, would you be scared or satisfied?

The Turing test, developed by Alan Turing, was designed to test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to. If we could have a chatbot which you can't tell the difference from a human, I would love to use it. First chatbot passed the test is a computer program called Eugene Goostman in 2014, which simulates a 13-year-old Ukrainian boy. Even though it simulates a teenage, it's a good start. there will be more chatbots passing the turning test in the future.
